Belay program direction
|
·
Today Gabie is working with Mpinga on DuHope
budget.
·
This week, Gabie and Jamie are going to try to find
someone on the US side to help with marketing.
·
Gabie and Jamie are trying to see if they can
get financing for DuHope through different applications.
·
We want to work with Brennan, who makes bags
here in Rwanda. They might advise us about supplies and quality control.
·
Most of oulets are out of stock but it is not
a big enough order to bring back the women. So we are still looking for an
order that can give work to the women.
·
The order from the US are things that are on
the website, so there is no need to produce more.
·
We are looking for a way to teach the women
how to rear rabbits so that they have have another source of income other
than jewerly
·
Gabie is going to push minicom because we
still haven’t heard from them about the exemption. On the last note, they had
promised to visit but they haven’t yet come

Duhu
|
·
Last week we attended the BDC event but it
wasn’t what we expected. We didn’t anything that can help Duhu and DuHope for
the moment.
·
Last week , Lise submitted updates of
incubates to Jamie, and the board is revising the proposal. We are waiting
for their feedback.
·
This week, Lise will be working on the
financial projections of the incubatees She is going to ask Chad to help if
he has time this week.
·
The Word Made Fresh training is ongoing.
·
Lise has two reports to write: one is about
the impact of DuHope loan and the other is about the incubator model.
·
Lise will meet Immaculee to see whether the
investment can be given quarterly and thus accelerate the incubator starting
time.

DuHope
|
·
The outlet that was making more money is Uzuri
but we won’t keep working with them
·
We have an order from the US, Mpinga is still
waiting from some information from Jamie to process that order.
·
There is another potential order, we are
waiting to see if she likes the things we have on the web or if we need to
make more products.
·
Heather has helped Mpinga taking jewelry pictures
for the web, but they still need some.
·
Mpinga is working on meeting with Alice, one
of the outlets in order to see how
much they made since February
·
Mpinga is still waiting for an update on
Charisma outlet, they haven’t yet signed the contract

Financial administration
|
·
The budget is tight for May, Jamie is working
to see how we can work with it. Maurice will have updates on Wednesday.
·
Maurice is working on the actuals of this
month
·
Maurice will also work on the cash flow
statement reports of the last period; from January to April
·
On the side of administration, we have a
problem of water that is not reaching the pipes, Maurice is working on fixing
it.

Communication and Spiritual
integration
|
·
Marlene has been preparing the retreat due on
May 12, but she is not yet done
·
She is working on the program manual of DuHope
·
She is working on the study that we will do
after Ephesians
·
Marlene and Heather visited Charlotte and
found that life is hard for her.
·
Josephine called Marlene to inform her that
she is getting baptized sometime in May.
·
Heather is going to start promoting mother’s
day, which is a big holiday in the US.
·
She is going to take more pictures of DuHope
products.
·
Heather sent Gabie and Marlene her schedule of
her remaining days; May 15th is going to be her last day in the
office
