20 March 2017

STAFFS MEETING 20th March 2017
Business development by Lise
Last week:
·         Started teaching last week at Word Made Flesh, goes there 3 times a week. It is taking a lot of her time because the level of education of the women is low thus she has to translate and edit the material. However, it is good because she will be able to use the same for DuHope women.
·         Incubation: has 4 business so far: Didier, Immaculee, the soap, and Claudine’s business to which the rabbit business was also added.
For the soap business Lise is doing cost analysis with Rachel to evaluate ways of making it a DuHope business,
For Claudine’s business, she chose to go with the goat business, it is viable compared to everything else she had proposed. Lise is doing final edits to the business plan and she will send it this week.
For Didier, Lise is evaluating his business to know the shares Belay will need to put in.
For Immacule, Lise is waiting on her business plan,
For Francoise’s business there isn’t much work needed since she is already operational.
·         Business plan: will meet Chad to help in financial projections
·         Operations: will work on the edits during this month
Spiritual integration/ admin/ literacy by Marlene
·         Administration: everything is going well; she is helping in various office errands as needed. Requesting the team to inform at least one day ahead for any requests for better collaboration.
·         Literacy: will focus on searching a material that suits the woman better, will have decided of the material to use by this week.
·         Spiritual Integration: we did a Bible study on Spiritual gifts last Friday, the team to give any feedback they have from that. We will have one more session on that then proceed with Ephesians. The Bible studies at DuHope are happening as usual. On Mondays Bible study will be happening after Counselling so that she gets to go there once in a while after staffs meeting to supervise. On Tuesday Janet will come in, for Bible study just to give the women a background on the universe and some science in the context of the study on creation they are doing. On Friday Heather will bring Jake along for the women’s visit for job shadowing. Marlene to advise on the person they would visit.
DuHope updates by Mpinga
·         There was a Sales event last Saturday 18th March
·         The products that Jamie didn’t take were dropped at the shop
·         Jeanna took some products for Jamie
·          Mpinga was asked to focus this week on whether they need to make summer products, i.e evaluating how spring collection is selling
·         There was an incident with the women so in the staff meeting they decided that on Mondays there will be a bible study after counselling.

Marketing by Heather
·         Has submitted an e-newsletter waiting for approval
·         Was advised to put on hold any advertisement on social media during the memorial week. We could just post a sympathy note.
·         We have been invited to an event at the US Embassy about young women entrepreneurship on Friday 24th March from 10AM-1PM. Lise will be on panel, some Duhus will attend the event, we are allowed to do a small expo of our products and Duhus’s products. Since phones are not allowed inside there will be no marketing about it.
·         DuHope products are still on sale at the shop will need to push that on social media.
AOB
·         Gabie will have a meeting with Marlene and Maurice to decide on some of Maurice’s admin responsibilities that Marlene can take over.
·         There will be no Bible study on Friday because of the event at the US Embassy
·         Lise, Mpinga and Charlotte will have a meeting with the women to discuss on the emergency fund’s use. The women need to learn to use efficiently the money they get from DuHope so that they just request the loan as a case of emergency only.
Prayer request

Maurice wasn’t able to attend the meeting because her sister got into an accident. She wasn’t physically injured but was traumatized. Pray for a quick recovery.
